In my past I used to use things like sex, alcohol or drugs to mask pain or just escape reality temporarily. The problem with this was, that every time I did, when I returned to reality it was a little worse than when I left if you know what I mean. Not only did I have the same problems as before, but usually I created even more from using whatever I did to escape. So the more you do “it” (whatever your “it” is) the more you want to do it because reality becomes harder and harder to deal with; it’s a viscous cycle. The only way out is through. You can’t use a bad behavior to get yourself out of a bad situation, you have to work your way out. God only rewards one thing, DISCIPLINE.
