Kaat just has to be in the Hall of Fame!! Geez, what are the voters missing?!?!? As I was baffled as to why Ron Santo hasn't been voted in, I stumbled across Kaat's acomplishments. Incredible! Gold gloves all those years AND in both leagues?!? Iron-man! Come on! Santo and Kaat not in the HOF brings a dis-service dis-respect to the current members of the HOF

Kitty belongs in the Hall Of Fame!!! His stats speak volumes...More wins than Gibson, Bunning,Marichal...Maybe the best fielding pitcher of all time. His broadcasting career? ... one of the most well-informed, straight speakers ever.... Wouldn't knuckle under to the Steinbrenners... Always spoke his mind. Kitty, God bless you. We miss you here in the Bronx!

Jim Kaat BELONGS in the Hall Of Fame!!! I can't believe he wasn't voted in by the writers, but he WILL get his due from the Veteran's Committee in 2009. Just look at his stats!! 289 wins, 180 complete games, 31 shutouts, all of those strikeouts, and 16 straight gold gloves...if THOSE STATS don't belong in the Hall, then NO ONE ELSE's DOES!! Kitty in the Hall in 09, I will be the one cheering the loudest!!

Joe Wood belongs in the Hall of Fame. I have a soon-to-be published book on the history of the game with a chapter on Smoky Joe. In this chapter I make his case for enshrinement. I have believed for over forty years that this man, the last surviving player from the first decade of the 20th century, deserves to be ranked with the greatest.

My grandmother, Dorothy Barker Turnbow, was Joe Wood's cousin. We have pictures of him when he visited Heber in the 1940s. His legend has been told and retold in our family. What an amazing arm he had! Its interesting to read the arguments for and against his induction into the Hall of Fame. Thanks for the great site.

what a shock - a guy on mostly small town teams, with a not-so-cool name or look, who still amassed really good numbers despite 3/4 of his teams being bad, ISN'T in the hall of fame! His post season #'s were great, he's top 5 all time in K's, top 10 in ShO and is a baker's dozen short of 300 in wins - pretty damn impressive if you ask me. ELECT HIM IN 2009!

Jim Kaat deserves to be inducted! His achievements are representative of a true Hall of Famer! The Veterans committee should vote Jim in, in 2009!
